Summary: The Birthday Party Facilitator is a part time, on-call weekend position responsible for the operation of facilitated and non-facilitated birthday parties. Facilitators provide friendly, visitor oriented service and plan and lead fun interactive activities to make a Bay Area Discovery Museum’s birthday party a fun-filled success. Responsibilities: Support the mission and values of the Bay Area Discovery Museum by facilitating the birthday party program including room rentals, basic and deluxe party packages. Handle logistics of the party: clean–up and set up between parties, greeting host/hostess and birthday party child, answering questions, decorating the party room, preparing goodie bags and other related activities. Other duties as required. Qualifications: Previous experience in special events, birthday parties program facilitation, work with children & families or theater preferred. Outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic, creative • Guitar playing, storytelling, puppeteer, face painting, arts and crafts/science activity experience helpful • Must love working with young children. Excellent communication skills, a commitment to visitor service and problem-solving skills required • Opportunities to work in a fun, energetic environment.
